Grown in a unique region of Guatemala on hills filled with volcanic soil.

There’s real energy in this cup, built slowly through a traditional natural process that lets the fruit shine in your cup.

Origin story

In Santa Rosa, generations of families have built their livelihoods around growing it, tying the region’s economy, culture and daily life closely to coffee.

This coffee tells the story of a strong community coming together in pursuit of quality. It is created with a combination of four varietals: Catuai, Caturra, Typica and Villa Sarchi.
Around 250 smallholder farmers carefully harvest the ripe coffee cherries between December and February, selecting only the best fruit. Farmers deliver their harvest in a single delivery, to help ensure consistency and to preserve the vibrant character of the crop.

THE PROCESSING
Sweet, lively and wonderfully expressive, this coffee gets
its character from a slow, sun-drenched natural process.
Fresh cherries are taken to El Boquerón Mill, carefully sorted, then spread across patios to dry in the sun until they reach the right moisture level. Drying the coffee inside the fruit allows all that ripe sweetness to build in the bean.
The mill also invests back into the region, including a local water treatment facility, helping care for the place behind the coffee only reﬂects the dedication of its producers but also the unique environment in which it was grown.

Not for me
This is tough. I wanted to love this, but I had a really hard time getting through this bag. I'm learning that I don't like fruity profiles in my coffee. But, I do love the taste of strawberries, so was curious whether this would be a subtle hint or a wet fish to the face. Sadly, it was the latter. I cannot describe the war going on with my taste buds every sip I took. So from a taste standpoint this is 1 star, but I give it another star as I think the quality is still there. If you do like fruity profiles, then I absolutely recommend trying it and can see how it would be worth 5 stars.
