Brewing Guide

Below is quick and easy guide to brewing your Jasper coffee or tea at home.

COFFEE

Plunger  Plunger: Use 1 tablespoon of coffee per cup. Add hot water, not boiling. Stir and wait 3-4  minutes, then plunge slowly halfway down.  Wait 1 minute then plunge down to bottom.

Stove Top  Stovetop: Fill bottom chamber with cold water to safety valve. Fill basket with coffee to rim. Don’t pack down. Screw top and bottom chambers together and sit stovetop on hot plate. When coffee bubbles up to the top chamber, turn heat down till the gentle flow finishes and pour.

Drip Filter  Drip Filter: Place paper filter in basket. Add 1 cup of ground coffee per 10 cups of fresh water.

Espresso  Espresso: We recommend grinding beans on demand. Fill coffee basket to rim. Tamp coffee down and twist to an even flat surface. The shot should pour evenly. See Home Espresso page for more detail on coffee extraction and milk frothing tips.
