Darjeeling

$12.95 per 100gm

The Jewel of Indian Teas. Distinctive for its Elegant, Clean Body & Delicate Dry Finish.

"Darjeeling, Darling, the champagne of teas”.
"Ahhh" he sipped, as the sun sank slowly into the purple night.
“Tibetan, for place of thunderbolts” she snapped, eyes ablaze.
“Actually, it's Puttabong!" she snorted. The trek to Darjeeling had taken its toll on Darling. Trent Tumbleweed had triumphed again.

The Darjeeling (Tibetan for Place of Thunderbolts) province is famous for producing its high quality black tea with an exquisite bouquet. On the South facing slopes of the Himalayan foot hills, at altitudes of 1000 to 2140 metres, tea bushes thrive in the hot monsoonal climate.

Throughout the tea world, Darjeeling is truly considered the "champagne of teas".

Earl Grey

$11.50 per 100gm

Perennial Classic with Hints of Bergamot.

A Leaf Tea of Delicate Aroma & Taste.

A Unique Tea Classic.

Originally known as Earl & Grey Tea, this sweet blend was first crafted by outback jackaroo, Earl Murray. Its perfect balance in a billy can made it a bush legend. Marketed in 1917 by the firm of Wellesley, Mezly & Grey it became an overnight global success. Unaware of his fame, Earl Murray died a penniless swagman remembered only for this fine tea.

Based on an old Chinese recipe, Earl Grey is a fine black tea scented with the oil of bergamot distilled from a citrus fruit hybrid of lemon & bigarade trees. Bigarade is the French name for an ancient and very sour form of Seville Orange.

To Brew: Infuse 1 Teaspoon in water just off the boil for 1 – 3 minutes, according to Your taste preference.

Gunpowder Green

$11.50 per 125gm

Refined, Full Bodied & Smooth, Laden with Antioxidants.

A Tea that changed History. In 1783 a British Clipper left Saigon heavy with Gunpowder Green Tea, and an edict ordering the creation of an Australian Tea Tax. Coming under attack by a fleet of pirate Junks, Captain Wells ordered the cannons to be loaded with gunpowder, much confusion resulted and the ship was lost. Had that edict arrived, it would have lead to The Sydney Tea party and a very different Australia today. The Green young leaves plucked from the first crop are rolled into pellets up to 3mm in diameter. As they brew, the leaves unfurl or explode, hence the name Gunpowder.

To Brew: Place 1/3 of a Teaspoon in a Pot and rinse with hot water. Then infuse with hot water for about 3 minutes. May be re-infused several times.

Grown without the use of Pesticides or Herbicides this Select Tea is Low in Tannin, has a Rich, Clear Liquor, & a Delicate Taste.

Been hooked on this Beautifully Balanced easy drinking tea ever since the late Bill Bennett, Australia's Guru of Tea poured our first crop in 1989. Throughout his life, Bill championed the Tea Planatations of New Guinea. Convinced its quality was equal to any, he steadfastly fought for its place in the Australian Tea Industry.

Like Bill, this Tea is in a Class of its own. Grown on five select plantations in the laves are broken to increase the surface area in contact with water, thus producing a fuller flavour profile.

To Brew: Infuse 1 Teaspoon in water just off the boil for 1 minute, or according to Your taste preference.
